Describe the location:
Scattered parcel outside of state forest boundaries known locally as the “Cloverdale Road” parcel.
Additional information about stand origin:
This stand originated after a buckthorn control herbicide spot treatment in 2017 and then a clearcut with reserves harvest in 2019.
Brief silvicultural objective:
Regenerate a mature stand of aspen to a young stand of similar composition while reducing the future spread of buckthorn.
Soils:
There are multiple soil complexes on the study area, with slopes from 1 to 20 percent: Mora-Ronneby complex, 1 to 4 percent slopes, stony. Coarse-loamy, mixed, superactive, frigid Aquic Glossudalfs. Fine sandy loam. Millward-Mora-Scott Lake complex, 2 to 20 percent slopes, stony. Coarse-loamy, mixed, superactive, frigid Inceptic Hapludalfs. Silt-loam to sandy loam.
